Words of Wisdom for the New Year: Looking vs Seeing

The school bell has rung, class is now in session.

Let me first start by saying, “Happy New Year’s Eve!”

Today is the last day of 2025, a time of reflection, and for the past week; I have been meditating on the Book of Mark 8: 24-26

Shortly before verse 24, Jesus asked the blind man if he saw anything, and the blind man looked and responded that he saw men as trees walking. Jesus touched his eyes again, and the blind man was restored and saw every man clearly. Jesus sent him away to his house and told him not to go into town, or to tell anyone in town.

Words of Wisdom for 2026

Enter the New Year seeing, not just looking, when it comes to making a decision about the things you are facing in your life. These “things” can be considered minor, or major. It can be a decision about spending time with someone, deciding whether or not to relocate, accepting/rejecting a position, choosing the right health care provider or school, joining or remaining in an organization, etc… All of these decisions can have a life-changing affect for good or bad; so you need to have a goal of reaching clarity when approaching your decisions/situations in 2026.

Jesus and the blind man could have stopped with him seeing men as trees walking, but they did not stop there. Jesus touched his eyes again and everything was clear for the blind man. That is how you need to move in 2026 with your pursuits. Do not settle, or rush the process.

If you do not have clarity, do not move until you do.

Be careful who you confide in, in 2026. Jesus specifically told the blind man to go straight to his house, not through town and not to tell anyone in town what happened. For those of you unfamiliar with this particular time in history, there were political and affluent members of societies throughout certain towns who did not want people to be healed and saw the act of healing offensive. That was why Jesus gave these instructions at times because He knew it would be harder on the blind man had he went into town and shared the healing with the wrong person.

You may not believe this but not everyone who smiles with you is truly for you, so be careful who you confide in, in 2026.

Key Takeaways

If you do not have clarity, do not move until you do.

Once you have clarity, be careful who you tell.

My prayer is that you will see beyond the surface of every situation in your life.

The school bell has rung, class dismissed!

  1. It was a treat to see your post in my inbox. I saved reading it until I could sit down with a cup of tea. The excited suspense reminded me of being a child and receiving my weekly comic through the post. Bunty was a favourite.
I always love your posts and this was no exception. Keep sharing them in 2026. Thank you for your kind wisdom. And a happy new year!
